Fiordland National Park

Be Amazed At The Stunning Beauty Of Fiordland

Established in 1952 and over 1.2 million hectares in size. The area was well known to the early Maori who hunted, fished and sought Pounamu (greenstone) in the area on a seasonal basis.

Much of Fiordland is only accessible by sea or air and it has the wettest climate in New Zealand. Fiordland is home to a number of endemic plants and endangered species of bird, including the Takahe and the world's only flightless parrot the Kakapo.

The area is known for its walking tracks including the Milford Track, the Kepler Track and the Routeburn Track.
