The Glacier Flight.

 

The glacier helicopter flight is with out a doubt the most amazing value for money of any other helicopter flight available in Milford Sound. There are other glacier flights in New Zealand but we encourage you to wait until your Milford Sound visit, and take the optional extra with Fiordland Tours immediately after the cruise section of the unhurried day with us.

The half hour flight leaves the Milford Sound airport and takes you out over Milford Sound where you have just cruised on. The helicopter then fly's out over the most amazing scenery and lands on the Mt Tutoko Glacier. Mt Tutoko is the highest mountain in Fiordland at 2735 meters.

 

Photo Opportunities

 

Time to take photos on the glacial snow and learn more about the Southern Alps of which Mt Tutoko is part of. Take off again and explore even further in to Fiordland before rejoining with the coach near the Homer Tunnel.

 

Our coach takes the equivalent time to travel by road from the airport to the pick up point for the helicopter passengers. Care is taken that people electing this amazing optional extra will not miss any scenic stops, as we do all the relevant scenic stops on the way in to the sound.
